Oklahoma State gets commit No. 8 for 2012

Pflugerville (TX) Hendrickson High School defensive end Victor Irokansi changed his commitment this week from Colorado to Oklahoma State.  The Cowboys eighth commit looks to be a very athletic DE with room to grow.

Rivals has Irokansi listed at 6’4″ 230 lb.  He’s tall and will add some more strength when he gets on a college campus.

What a difference a year makes.  We’ll start with his sophomore highlights.

It’s easy to see from the video how aware the opposing teams were of his pass rush.  At the 4:30 mark in the video, my first thought was that the opposing team was lined up in punt formation.  I then realized that it was just the quarterback lined up almost eight yards back in the shot gun formation.

Junior Highlights

After watching his Junior highlight video, I was thinking that a few more of those quarterbacks should have been eight yards off the ball.  Great quickness off the edge and blowing up plays at the line of scrimmage.  Great progression from his sophomore year to his junior year.  Victor looks to have a good upside and should be a great get for the Cowboys ’12 class.
