Oklahoma made its first four shots – all threes – and opened a 29-17 lead over Dayton in the first half. But the Flyers made a run to cut the lead to just two at the break.
The No. 11 seed came out big in the second half and held a 56-49 midway through the second half. The Sooners finally got things going, holding Dayton scoreless for the next eight and a half minutes through a 13-0 run and took a lead they would not relinquish.
Jordan Woodard scored 16 in the win and Buddy Hield had 15. Frank Booker was 4-of-6 from long range and had 12 points.

• Won 66-53 over Providence in Second Round game on Friday and beat Boise State, 56-55, in First Four game on Wednesday.
• 16th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the Elite Eight in 2014.
• Jordan Sibert and Dyshawn Pierre each have scored more than 1,000 points in their careers at Dayton.
• Sibert averaged 15.0 ppg in Atlantic 10 tournament and scored 15 points against Providence.
