MCPHERSON, Kan. — Southwestern Christian University defeated top-seeded Mid-America Christian 76-66 to win the NCCAA Central Region Tournament championship Friday at Dr. Jerry E. Alexander Arena.
The Eagles (13-17) used another big fourth-quarter run to avenge their loss to MACU in the regional title game a season ago and earn an automatic bid to the NCCAA Division I Women’s Basketball National Championship March 14-17 in Winona Lake, Ind.
The national-tournament trip will be SCU’s third in the last four years. The Eagles last won the Central Region Tournament in 2014-15.
