This is a season that has just been that good for the Sooners.
Oklahoma is ranked third in the latest AP Men’s College Basketball Top 25 Poll for the second consecutive week. This ranking is coming on the heels of a 76-72 loss at home to Kansas in a rematch of the epic triple-overtime classic in January.
And that is a testament to just how good this team is.
Even when the Sooners lose, the country respects what they can do.
Oklahoma (20-4) opened the 2015-16 season with 12 consecutive wins, but have gone just 5-3 during the last eight games. And still the fall in the rankings has been only from No. 1 to No. 3 and then hovering right there.
Villanova, a team OU put a 28-point waxing on in Hawaii back in December, is No. 1 for a second straight week. And Kansas, who earned a season sweep on the Sooners on Saturday, jumped from sixth to second in this week’s poll.
