Oklahoma is one of the three Big 12 teams in the top five of the AP men’s college basketball poll.
The Sooners (7-0) are coming off a beatdown of then-No. 9 Villanova in Hawai’i last Monday in the FS1 Pearl Harbor Invitational, 78-55, and a 96-73 victory over Oral Roberts, and moved up four spots from No. 7.
Kansas (8-1) remained second in this week’s poll and Iowa State (9-0) dropped one spot to fifth. Michigan State, at the top of the rankings, and No. 4 Kentucky round out the top five.
The Sooners next take the court at home on Saturday against Creighton and then travel back to Hawai’i for the Diamond Head Classic to wrap up the 2015 portion of the schedule.
Oklahoma’s Big 12 slate begins with Iowa State in the Lloyd Noble Center on Jan. 2, and at Kansas on Jan. 4.
