KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Southwestern Christian University defeated Emmanuel (Ga.) 1-0 in overtime and secured its first ever NCCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Championship Saturday at Austin-Tindall Soccer Complex.
After the Eagles and Lions played a scoreless 90 minutes of regulation, SCU broke through in 98th minute when Chad Dennis connected with Walton Domingos who netted the game winner, his fifth goal of the tournament.
Dennis, a senior midfielder from Liverpool, England, was named Tournament Most Outstanding Player. Lucas Louriero, Danny Roberts and Rob Tomlin joined Dennis on the all-tournament team.
