Central defeated Armstrong Atlantic, 5-2, in the first round of the NCAA Division II softball championship finals Thursday.
Edwards’ two-run homer got the Bronchos on the board first in the third inning.
Then, Brunson broke open the game in the fifth, sending in two on a triple to right center.
Central (48-11) stayed on the winners’ side of Bracket I and will play Molloy on Friday.
Kalynn Schrock pitched the complete game for the win, giving up two hits and two runs and struck out 15.
