LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association Wednesday announced the 35th annual AVCA All-America teams for NCAA Division II women’s volleyball and Central Oklahoma sophomore outside hitter Taylor Bevis earned a spot on the prestigious team.
Bevis made third-team after a sensational season. The sophomore followed up an impressive freshman campaign by catapulting herself into one of the country’s premier forces at the net.
Bevis led the Bronchos in kills this season with 415, an average of 3.95 per set which ranked 33rd in the country. She hit .246 on the season and added 13 service aces to her game as well. Bevis also 54 total blocks, 0.51 per set, and a team-high 17 solo blocks. She added 326 digs, which was second on the team that finished the season 30-4.
Bevis has been bringing in the awards this fall. She earned First-Team All-MIAA, Second-team Conference Commissioners Association All-Region, as well as the AVCA’s All-Central Region first team. Bevis, a nursing major with a 3.8 GPA, also was named to the MIAA’s Academic Honor Roll.
Bevis is the fifth Central Oklahoma player to earn All-American honors.
