The Bacone Warriors suffered a heartbreaking 21-20 loss to Panhandle State to end the 2010 season. BC concluded the year with a 3-8 overall record while going 2-3 in Central States Football League play, which was good enough for fourth-place in the conference.
The preseason poll for 2011 predicts the Warriors to have similar success this season. Bacone was tabbed to be fourth in the CSFL following Northwestern, Southern Nazarene and Langston.
The Warriors open 2011 in the state’s first college game of the new year as they travel to Tahlequah to take on Northeastern State on Aug. 27. Bacone’s home opener is the weekend after against another D-II opponent. Southwest Baptist will play in the Indian Bowl on Sept. 3.
A trip to San Antonio also highlights the nonconference portion of the schedule when the Warriors face UT-San Antonio’s first year program on Sept. 24 in the Alamo dome.
Langston launches the conference slate on Oct. 1 in Muskogee. CSFL preseason favorite comes to town two weeks later on Oct. 15, preceding an open week for the Warriors.
Bacone closes out the regular season against OPSU again this season, this time at home, on Nov. 12.
