Oklahoma State scored the first seven points against DePaul and never trailed on its way to a victory in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Cowgirls defeated the Blue Demons, 73-56, in Durham, N.C., on Sunday.
Toni Young was instrumental in extending her final season. Her double-double consisted of a game-high 25 points to go with 13 rebounds. Young scored 20 of her 25 in the first half and had 10 of the first 18 Cowgirls’ points to help OSU get off to its quick lead.
Kendra Suttles also had a double-double for OSU, with 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Oklahoma State (22-10) will next face Duke on the Blue Devils’ home court on Tuesday.
