OPSU men finish third, SWOSU men sixth at CNFR

The Oklahoma Panhandle State men’s rodeo team earned a third place finish at the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyo., this week.

The Aggies earned 710 team points and finished the event behind champion Tennessee-Maritn with 755 points and Tarleton State with 730.

Southwestern’s men got 430 points on the way to a sixth place finish overall.

OPSU had two runner-up finishes while SWOSU notched one as well.

The Aggies’ Orin Larsen recorded an 82.5 on his championship round ride and was second place in bareback riding.

Panhandle State’s Joe Frost and Southwestern’s Sage Kimzey were two of only five qualifying rides in the bull riding short go.  Each earned 85.0 points and tied as runners-up.

Northwestern’s men were also in Casper and finished in a tie for 22nd.  There were 56 teams competing in the event.
