Osby’s career night leads OU over Texas

Oklahoma Sooners

Texas came into the Lloyd Noble Center without a Big 12 win this season.  Oklahoma made sure the Longhorns left the same way, winning the first matchup of the season, 73-67.

Oklahoma (13-4, 4-1 Big 12) led by 11 with a 1:45 remaining, but Texas got to within four points in the closing seconds.

Romero Osby led the way for the Sooners with a game high and career high 29 points.  Osby grabbed seven rebounds along the way.  Osby and Amath M’Baye also excited the crowd with high flying dunks.

Sheldon McClellan led Texas (8-10, 0-5 Big 12) with 25 points, a career high for him as well.

Oklahoma trailed 24-19 with 4:14 left in the first half.  The Sooners then outscored Texas 29-12 from that point through the first eight minutes of the second half, and built a 12-point lead at 48-36.
