SCU repeats as NCCAA men’s soccer champions

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Southwestern Christian University blanked Indiana Wesleyan 2-0 to win its second-consecutive NCCAA Division I Men’s Soccer National Championship Saturday at Austin-Tindall Soccer Complex.

The Eagles (21-5-1) got second-half goals from Igor Stojanovic and Cem Bektas en route to successfully defending their NCCAA Division I title.

Senior defender Danny Roberts was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player and was named to the all-tournament team.

Stojanovic and fellow forward Matheus Goviea joined Roberts on the all-tournament team. Goalkeeper Caleb Swanepoel was also named to the all-tournament team.

Artur Gomes, Jack Symes and Jeremy Vejle were all named NCCAA Scholar-Athletes.
