SWOSU continues climb, UCO falls in WBCA poll

Both Southwestern and Central moved four spots in the latest Women’s Basketball Coaches Association poll.

The Lady Dawgs moved up. The Bronchos moved down. But both remain in the top 20.

Southwestern (14-1, 8-0 GAC) is up to No. 13 this week. SWOSU has won six straight and is undefeated in the Great American Conference. The Lady Dawgs defeated rival Northwestern, 95-81, on Monday night and junior Hailey Tucker has been named the league’s Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks.

Central (15-2, 6-2 MIAA) fell to No. 19 in the ranking. UCO went 1-1 last week, falling 61-53 at Emporia State, who is receiving votes in this week’s poll, then defeating Washburn by two. The Bronchos host rival NSU on Saturday.
