Jessica Penner, junior, Southwestern (Hometown: Cordell)
Penner had 39 points in a win over Southern Arkansas and set a program record for most points scored in the NCAA Division II era. Â It was also the third most in GAC history. Â She averaged 25.5 points and 12 rebounds in two wins during the week. Â Penner also connected on 19 consecutive field goals during the two-game stretch.
J.C. Hartzler, junior, Rogers State (Hometown: Tulsa, Union H.S.)
Hartzler averaged 23 points for the Hillcats, who went 1-1 this week. Â He scored 20 in a win over Texas A&M-International, and seven of 10 in a 10-0 run during a tight first half. Â His 26 against St. Mary’s in a double overtime loss matched a career high.
