Goodwell, Okla.-The OPSU women’s basketball team (3-6) snapped a six game
losing streak last night in Oscar Williams Field House with a
confidence-boosting win against the Central Christian College Tigers (3-11)
from McPherson, Kans.

The Aggies cruised to a 41-22 lead at the halftime break and continued to
control the game in the second half, earning a 77-50 win. Whitley Coca led
all scorers with 23 total points and was a perfect 5-5 at the free throw
line. She also took down six rebounds and was credited with six steals.
Morgan Rickwartz had 10 points while Sharice Papaleo and Shayla Mathis had
eight and seven rebounds, respectively.

The women face another Tiger team, Ft. Hays State Univ., tonight in Goodwell
at 5:30 p.m. The visitors are ranked 11th nationally in NCAA Div. II and
have started their season with an 8-0 record. Tonight is the final chance to
watch the women at home for over a month as they go into the holiday break
and then resume play on the road against WTAMU on Dec. 29.

The men also play Ft. Hays State following the women’s game tonight and then
have a final home game Monday against Bethel College before the break.
Admission is free for tonight’s games.
