A lot was on the line the last time Alva and Preston met in girls basketball. A gold ball.
Alva defeated Preston, 47-42, in the Class 2A State Championship in March.
The two will meet again in the semifinals of the Bertha Frank Teague Mid-America Classic on Tuesday.
Each team won by 12 points to advance. Alva downed Georgetown, Texas, 42-30, and Preston took care of hometown favorite Ada, 51-39.
Class 3A Washington will also meet Class 2A Dale in the other semifinal in the winners’ bracket.
