WEATHERFORD – Head Coach Chet Pobolish announced Wednesday the addition of 46 student-athletes who have signed to join the SWOSU Football program on National Signing Day. These signees join 11 mid-year transfers who are already on campus for the spring semester, giving the Bulldogs 57 newcomers for the 2020 season.
“With this recruiting class, we had to improve our numbers defensively and be very specific with who we signed on offense to even out our roster,” Pobolish said. “I think our staff did a good job of identifying the weaknesses on our roster and we improved across the board with our latest additions so I want to thank them for the hard work they put in to putting together this recruiting class.”
Among the new signees joining Bulldog Football are 24 players slated to play on offense along with 32 set to play defense along with one longsnapper on special teams. SWOSU inked players from eight different states, with 27 hailing from Texas and 24 from the Sooner state along with one apiece from California, Florida, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri and Oregon.
“I would also like to thank the high school coaches we visited during recruiting season, primarily in Oklahoma and Texas,” Pobolish said. “For us, recruiting starts right here, close to home, and we are appreciative of the coaches for taking time to welcome us into their schools as we recruit their student-athletes.”
