Cowboys stay put at No. 24 in AP Poll

Oklahoma State played only one game this week, and the eventual blowout win over Central Arkansas wasn’t enough to allow for upward movement in the AP men’s basketball poll.

The Cowboys (8-1) remain in the 24th spot in the media poll.

Wichita State, at No. 23 last week, lost to Tennessee this week, giving the Shockers their first loss.  But the Butler Bulldogs’ upset of top-ranked Indiana on Saturday propelled them into the Top 25, coming in at No. 19 and jumping OSU along the way.

The Hoosiers fell to No. 6, and the top five consists of Duke, Michigan, Syracuse, Arizona and Louisville, all moving up one spot.

Kansas is ranked ninth and is the only other Big 12 school in the rankings this week.

Oklahoma State next takes on Texas-Arlington at Gallagher-Iba Arena on Wednesday at 7 p.m., as the Cowboys continue their six-game home stretch before the end of 2012.
