Durant Fast-Pitch Tournament starts Friday

Durant High School will be hosting the 2016 Durant High School Fast-Pitch Softball Tournament. The tournament will begin on Friday, Sept. 9, and end on Saturday, Sept. 10. It will be held at the Durant Multi-Sports Complex. Both Durant’s Varsity and JV teams will be playing.

There is a total of 22 teams competing and 48 games will be played. The time limit for each game will be an hour and ten minutes and they will be playing on four different fields.

The first four games of the tournament will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday with Durant vs. Antlers on Field 5, Sulphur vs. Hugo on Field 6, Rattan vs. Ada on Field 1, and Colbert vs. Durant JV on Field 8. Other times Durant will be playing on Friday are 2 p.m. for JV and 4:40 p.m. for varsity.

On Saturday, Sept. 10 the first games start at 9 a.m. with Durant vs. Sulphur on Field 5,  and Antlers vs. Hugo on Field 6. The next set of games will begin at 10 a.m. with Rattan vs. Durant JV on Field 7 and Colbert vs. Ada on Field 8. Durant will play two more games on Saturday; Varsity will play against Valliant at 3:40 p.m. and Durant JV will play against McAlester at 2:10 p.m.

The athletic director will also be watching the weather as rain is forecast for Saturday morning.
