OKLAHOMA CITY – The final award for the 2016 East Central University football season has been awarded to sophomore Louden Johnson by the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame and The National Football Foundation. He was named the Tigers NFF Oklahoma Chapter College Player of the Year.

Johnson is one of eight players from collegiate schools in all divisions in Oklahoma to earn the honor in 2017. A recipient from each school can be selected and the award is based on the student-athletes performance on and off the field.

The Wayne, Okla., native carries a 3.37 GPA in business administration at ECU. He garnered Great American Conference All-Academic honors and stands in line to receive similar recognition from D2ADA for the 2016-17 school year.

The defensive back finished the 2016 season with 26 (16-10) tackles and a pass break up. He had his best game against Harding, with seven (4-3) total tackles and the broken pass.
