Shawnee – Oklahoma Baptist shot 50 percent from the field and dominated Central Baptist 87-53 in NAIA women’s basketball action Friday in Shawnee.

The Lady Bison got 25 points from Janell Beacham and 22 from Charity Fowler as that pair combined for 10 of OBU’s 11 three-pointers.

The hosts trailed early, but used an 18-3 run with two three-pointer by Beacham to take over the game with a 23-9 lead midway through the first half. OBU led by as much as 16 in the half and held a 39-25 halftime advantage.

A 27-10 second half run by the Lady Bison put the game out of reach.

Zbeyda Aremi and Lilia Inoubli joined Beacham and Fowler in double figure scoring with 16 and 10 points, respectively. Inoubli led OBU’s 41-40 rebounding advantage with 12.

The Lady Bison got 23 assists, led by Bretlin Gabelmann with six and Beacham with five. Inoubli had four of OBU’s 11 steals.

Alyssa Drake led CBC with 15 points.

OBU forced 23 turnovers while committing a season-low 11.

Now 7-1, the Lady Bison host No. 5 Westminster Monday at 1 p.m.
