Lady Lions looked good in their own tournament

The Durant Lions’ softball team has had a great start to this season. They have currently only lost three games, and several home runs have been hit.

The Durant Lions Softball Tournament was held at the Durant Multi-Sports Complex on Sept. 9-10.

The Durant Varsity team did an amazing job. They did not lose a single game during the tournament. Sydney Hampton led the team to four awesome victories in the circle.

On Friday, Sept. 9, the softball team played two games, against Sulphur and against Byng.

The Lady Lions beat Sulphur, 12-2, and then Byng, 3-2.

Destinee Lewis hit a homerun over the centerfield wall off of Byng’s pitcher, who is going to Central Florida. It was a awesome game.

On Saturday, Sept. 10, the tournament ended up getting delayed an hour because of rain. The first game did not start until 11:00am.

Durant played against Calera at 11 a.m. They played really well. Shayla Harper hit a homerun during this game.

Durant won that game, 4-0, and later won over Antlers, 4-0.
