The Union City Lady Tigers opened the second half of their season on Jan. 3rd at Arapaho-Butler. In a fast-paced, well-matched game, the Lady Tigers came on top, 40-34.
Union City had trouble scoring the first half of the game. Hunter Johnson, however, excelled contributing 13 of the 16 points before halftime. The Lady Tigers spent the majority of the first two quarters down only a few points to the Lady Indians. They ended the half trailing, 21-19
But in the third quarter, the Lady Tigers came out with tremendous teamwork on both offense and defense, and in outscored the Lady Indians by one point, 10-9.
In the fourth quarter, the Lady Tigers’ teamwork prevailed again. Union City’s defense only gave up four points to the opposing team, and scored 12 points to finish the game, 40-34.
The Lady Tigers will be back in action Thursday, Jan. 5, to kick off the Hammon Tournament.
