OKLAHOMA CITY — The Mid-America Christian University Evangels men’s soccer team has landed six players on the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) All-Central Region squad. Seniors Andrew Webster, Willy Deleon and sophomore Raphael Bonelle are first-team selections, while senior Duncan Mbugua and freshmen Kevin Cabello and Tyler McIntosh earned second-team nods.

Webster again provided steady defense and also contributed offensively with four goals and one assist.  Deleon dished out a team-high eight assists and also scored three times, while Bonelle paced the Evangels’ offensive attack with a team-best 10 goals along with a pair of assists.  The 10 scores by Bonelle is the most for MACU since the school joined the NAIA.

Mbugua ranked second on the team with seven goals and also recorded two assists. Cabello scored three times with one assist and McIntosh made a Sooner-Athletic Conference leading 128 saves with four shutouts in the net.

The Evangels (9-7-2) are coming off their best season since joining the NAIA, including earning a spot in the Sooner Athletic Conference tournament for the first time in the program’s history.
