• The Sooners aren’t the only Oklahoma team with two wins and a pair of QBs. Bacone is 2-0 and has gotten to this point on the shoulders of two different quarterbacks.
Coach Trevor Rubly said that the competition in camp this summer was tough between his two seniors, Kyle Kuban and Karl Birkenfield. Kuban passed for 306 yards and three TDs in the Warriors’ first game, an overtime victory over McPherson. But Birkenfield came on in relief Saturday to lead the team to the victory, throwing for one score while running for three more.
While there may or may not be any controversy in Muskogee, the Warriors should feel confident that there is plenty of talent on this team to try to make a deep run this season.
