TULSA – Washington did just enough, and not a thing more, to win at Tulsa on Monday afternoon.
The Mystics staved off every run from Tulsa and defeated the Shock, 95-90 in overtime, in front of a sold-out crowd at the BOK Center and a national audience on ESPN2.
Ivory Latta, who had played for the Shock the three previous seasons, came back to Tulsa and put on a show with a game high 27 points and was 11 for 11 from the free throw line.
The Shock didn’t do much to help their cause at the end as it looked as though the energy had been drained from their offense. They went the final three and a half minutes of regulation and almost the entirety of the five-minute overtime period without a made field goal. Tulsa got a putback by Elizabeth Cambage with 11 seconds left in the extra frame.
