No. 24 Lady Dawgs wrap up fall with fourth straight top-three finish

MUSKOGEE – Behind a top-ten individual finish from Elin Wahlin, the No. 24-ranked SWOSU Women’s Golf team placed third at the NCAA Division II Central Region Preview on Tuesday-Wednesday at Muskogee Country Club.

Wahlin fired rounds of 74 and 75 to finish at seven-over par for the two-round tournament, which tied her for sixth place at the event. She was three shots ahead of Chloe Thackeray, who carded matching rounds of 76, while Gloria Choi was two shots behind her at 12-over. Veronika de Bochdanovits also had matching rounds of 78, which was a counted score each days and Mikaela Rindermann rounded out the scoring with scores of 84 and 82.

The tournament was the final event of the fall season for the Lady Bulldogs, who finished third at each of the last three events following a runner-up finish at the NSU Women’s Classic. SWOSU will return to action in February for the championship portion of the schedule.
