The coaches and media who voted in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association preseason football polls didn’t give Central and Northeastern State much chance to win the conference championship in 2014.

UCO was picked 10th of the 12 teams playing MIAA football this season and picked 11th in the media poll.

NSU came in 12th in both polls.

The Bronchos and RiverHawks each had 2-8 records in conference play in 2013.

Northwest Missouri, the defending NCAA Division II national champion, is the favorite of both the coaches and media to repeat as MIAA champs.  The Bearcats were 15-0 in 2013 and 10-0 in the league.
