NSU’s Petersen earns WGCA All-American Scholar status

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – 21 straight years of academic excellence for the Northeastern State women’s golf program with Kaylee Petersen earning WGCA All-American Scholar status Tuesday.

Petersen was a WGCA All-Central Region honoree this spring and was an All-American Scholar representative in 2020. In her second year at NSU, Petersen held a team-low 78.38 stroke average with five top-ten finishes. Against fellow players this season, the Enid, Okla. native bested 81.8-percent (505-112) of the field.

Since 2001, there have been 42 WGCA All-American Scholars from Northeastern State.

A total of 1,432 women’s collegiate golfers were recognized in NCAA Division I, II and III. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.
