NEWTON, Kan. – Oklahoma City University rolled to its second straight fall team title with a dominant final round at the Mid-South Classic on Wednesday afternoon at the Sand Creek Station Golf Course.

OCU’s top-four carded a 282 to push the Stars to 13 under par (851 total) for the three-round tournament and a 29-stroke lead over second-place Bellevue (Neb.). OCU shot under par all three rounds of the tournament (282-287-282) to finish at 851 on the par-72 course.

Star golfers claimed the top three spots in the tournament, with senior Dalton Daniel claiming top honors with a seven under par outing of 209 (71-68-70). Freshman Dylan Teeter carded a four under par 212 (66-71-75) to claim second place and freshman Tres Hill tied for third place with a one under par 215 (76-71-68).

Senior Will Fore finished in a tie for 13th place at 221 (69-80-72) and sophomore Bosten Benn carded a 231 (82-77-72) to finish in a tie for 31st place.

Head coach Andy Crabtree says his players are very supportive of one another and the all have bought into the total team concept that leads to long-term success.

“I am really proud of the team’s effort this week,” Crabtree said. “Everyone contributed and it’s not often a team wins by 29 shots, especially against a quality program like Bellevue.”

He continued, “I was excited to see team captain Dalton Daniel get his first individual title at OCU. It is great to see his hard work pay off.”

OCU returns to action next week at the Texas Intercollegiate. The 72-hole tournament will played on Monday and Tuesday at the Hawks Creek Golf Club in Westworth Village, Texas.
