Sooner Athletic Conference volleyball coaches gave the preseason nod to Oklahoma City heading into the 2016 season.
The Stars garnered seven first-place votes and 98 points to lead the coaches’ poll.
Wayland Baptist picked up the other three first-place votes. Last year’s regular season and conference tournament champions were picked second in the poll.
Oklahoma City won 21 matches in 2015 and in each of the last five seasons has increased its win total over that of the year before.
