This week’s Oklahoma college Players of the Week are the Central rowing team, UCO, and Tim Arakawa, OSU.
UCO rowing team, Central
The team had its best-ever season and finished in fourth place in the NCAA Division II Rowing Championships. UCO came in third in the 4+ race and fourth in the 8+ race. Seniors who competed included Sam Godfrey (Mustang), Tracey Lisowe, Madison Martens (Perry), Jenna Laine Meraz (Piedmont) and Amy Van Buskirk (Christian Heritage).
Tim Arakawa, senior, Oklahoma State
The senior had an RBI walk-off single to give the Cowboys a 5-4 win over St. John’s in the opening game of the NCAA Regional in Stillwater. It was the only win of the weekend for an Oklahoma team (OSU or ORU). Arakawa went 2-for-5 on the evening and his lone RBI was the game winner.
