OKWU’s Souza named NAIA WSOC National Offensive Player of the Week

Kansas City, Mo. – Rayssa Neres Souza of Oklahoma Wesleyan has been named the NAIA National Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and Gabi Haw of Westmont (Calif.) has been named the NAIA National Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. The two student-athletes were nominated for their performances during the week of Sept. 16 – 22 and were selected out of a pool of conference and Association of Independent Institutions award winners.

Defensive Player of the Week
Gabi Haw, Westmont (Calif.)
Jr., GK, Costa Mesa, Calif.

  • Recorded a five-save shutout over No. 1 William Carey (Miss.)
  • Allowed just one goal in two games, which was scored on a penalty kick.
  • Weekly Stats:
    • Seven saves
    • Shutout against No. 1 William Carey, which was its first loss
    • Has five total shutouts on the year

Offensive Player of the Week
