Goodwell, Okla.—The Langston University Lions (3-4) will come to town on Saturday, Nov. 2 for OPSU’s final home football game of the 2013 season.  With the Lions coming off a big win against Oklahoma Baptist (53-7) and the Aggies seeking atonement for last week’s bitter loss against Southwestern Assemblies of God University (35-42), this will be a match-up you won’t want to miss.

The Aggies currently own a 3-6 record; a record that does not fully reflect the talent and fortitude of this Aggie team.  This team has not only suffered hard-fought battles with NCAA-Division I opponents, but also has had to overcome injuries to key players throughout the season.  This being said, the Aggies have not and will not quit. They will come ready to fight this week against a tough Langston team and ready to prove what they are made of in front of their home crowd.

Playing the final home game of their college careers will be seniors James Blaise (DL), Keidrick Brewster (DB), Dekerrian Cooper (DB), Marcus Dimando (OL), Kei Harris (LB), Cameron Hickey (OL), Antonio Mendoza (P), Carlos Nieto (K), and Lance Quintana (WR).  These young men have been excellent ambassadors of OPSU and Aggie Football throughout the years.

Senior recognition will take place about 30 minutes prior to kick-off.  In addition to the senior football players, senior cheerleaders and cross country members will also be recognized.  Cheerleaders include Matthew Blakesly and John Hein; and Cross Country seniors are Gideon Busienei, Bill Lee, Mike Wiebe, Whitley Coca, Kori Hamm, and Teenie Kent.

Prior to the football game, the 7th Annual OPSU Chili Cook-off will take place in the parking lot east of Carl Wooten Field.  Tasting begins at 11 a.m. and everyone is invited to come and sample 20 different types of chili and vote on their favorite; winners will be announced at halftime.

This week’s game is sponsored by Kincaid Coach; sponsors will be recognized at halftime.  The Hooker High School Cheerleaders will also be performing at halftime so be sure to stay in your seats for their performance.

Aggie fans are reminded to bring their lawn chairs, rocking chairs, blankets, or sofas and enjoy the best seats in the house for FREE! Come sit in the Mazzio’s Zone and watch the game right on the field. Mazzio’s Pizza will deliver ten free pizzas to the rowdiest fans in the “Zone,” let’s fill it up for the final home game. Game time is set for 2 p.m. so come early, wear red, got rowdy, and REV IT UP!!!
