This week’s Players of the Week are Relina Johnson, NWOSU, and DesJuan Newton, RSU.
Relina Johnson, sophomore, Northwestern
Johnson had 14 points against Southeastern with 14 points and went 4-of-6 from behind the arc.  The biggest three-pointer came with 4 seconds left and her team was trailing by one.  Johnson’s three gave her team the 69-67 win. Johnson had 12 more points in a win over Southern Nazarene.
DesJuan Newton, senior, Rogers State
The shooting guard played a big role in wins over the Heartland Conference’s top teams and put RSU right up there with them in the standings. Â Newton averaged 23 points per game in wins over No. 23 St. Edward’s and Texas-Permian Basin and combined for 5-of-7 shooting from behind the arc. He also connected on 13-of-15 free throws.
