The 2013 Sooner Athletic Conference baseball tournament got underway with earlier start times at the sites to accommodate the weather forecast.

LCU’s Jack Mabe pitched eight and two-thirds innings and picked up the win for the Chaparrals. The Cavs never really got the bats going today. Christian Torres scored for SGU in the fourth on a fielder’s choice.
No. 3 Oklahoma Baptist 6, No. 6 Wayland Baptist 5
The Bison got all six of their runs in the first two innings, but made them stand up, holding on for the one-run win. OBU’s Greg Nelson had two RBI and two runs.
At OCU
No. 4 USAO 6, No. 5 Rogers State 5
Zach Gonzalez had three RBI for the Drovers. Robert Summers picked up the winning run, though, coming home from third when Heath Wilda grounded into a double play in the eighth.
No. 1 Oklahoma City 4, No. 8 Mid-America Christian 2
Cody Crabaugh picked up his 13th win this season, as two teams going in opposite directions continued to go their way. The Stars, No. 1 in the country, move to 45-10 and pick up a win in pool play.
