St. Gregory’s is coming off it’s first trip to the NAIA men’s basketball Fab Four and has earned another first.
The Cavs are  ranked No. 6 in the 2014 NAIA Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Preseason Top 25 Poll.
Last season, SGU recorded a school record 12 SAC wins and 24 wins overall, and its three wins in the NAIA Tournament were the first for the program as well.
Four starters return, including Marty Wilkerson, who at times led the nation in scoring.
Oklahoma Baptist is back in the poll this season, as well.
OBU is ranked No. 12, the highest of four teams in the poll not ranked in the final poll at the end of last season.
The Bison finished last season at just 19-16 – and just 15-15 through the regular season – but won the SAC postseason tournament to earn the automatic bid to the NAIA tournament. Â It marked the 14th consecutive trip to the national tournament.
