Sooners drop in AP poll; Cowboys move back into coaches poll

An idle week for the Sooners allowed Florida State and Georgia to jump past them in the AP poll this week.

Oklahoma dropped to No. 6 according to the media.  Alabama and LSU stayed in the top two spots.

USC fell completely out of the top 10 in both polls after losing to Stanford on Saturday.  It’s the fourth straight year that the Cardinal has taken down the Trojans.

Florida State shut out Wake Forest, 52-0, to break out of the tie with Oklahoma, while Georgia manhandled Florida Atlantic to slip past the Sooners, too.

OU still holds the fifth spot in the coaches poll.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys crept back into the coaches poll in the No. 25 spot, but received little love from the media, though they took down Louisiana-Lafayette with the backup quarterback playing throughout.
