SWOSU women’s golf finishes second at Central Region Preview

OLATHE, Kan. – SWOSU Women’s Golf placed second at the Central Region Preview on Wednesday, dropping from the top spot where they sat after the opening round.

The Lady Bulldogs shot 309 (+21) on the day and finished with an overall stroke count of 598 (+22) for the tournament.

Elin Wahlin stayed consistent in the second round, carding a team best 74 (+2) while both Gloria Choi and Jenna Eidem finished with a 78 (+6) to tie for the Bulldogs’ second-best scores. Emily Folsom posted a 79 (+7) and Chloe Thackeray shot 80 (+8) for the day.

Coming into the final round, Augustana (S.D.) trailed SWOSU by two strokes but quickly erased the deficit and went on to win the preview by 10 strokes. Hannah Hankinson was the individual champion from Augie, carding scores of 69 and 70.

The Lady Dawgs will have a quick turnaround and will play the second tournament of the fall next week at the Northeastern State Classic, beginning Monday, Sept. 11 and finishing a day later.
