Talley nets 1,000th point in win over Arkansas Tech

ADA – After scoring just two points in the first half, East Central University men’s basketball junior Camron Talley caught fire in the second half to finish with 25 points and lead the Tigers (7-4, 4-2 GAC) to a 95-78 victory over Arkansas Tech.

Scoring

  • First Half: 38-37
    • The Wonder Boys (2-7, 0-6 GAC) took an early 6-2 lead (17:03 left)
    • ECU pushed back and tied the game at eight, with 15:21 remaining
    • The Tigers then used an 9-0 run to take an 18-9 advantage
    • ATU pushed back and cut the deficit to four (18-14), with 11:30 left
    • With eight minutes left the Wonder Boys used a 15-4 run to take a 35-29 lead
    • ECU finished the final four minutes with an 11-2 run to regain the lead
  • Second Half: 57-41
    • The Wonder Boys were able to tie the game at 40, with 19 minutes left
    • ATU then used an 8-5 run to take a 48-45 advantage
    • The Tigers quickly rebounded, with an 11-2 run, over the next 2:30 minutes
    • ECU kept pushing and got the lead out to 12, with nine minutes remaining
    • The Tigers pushed the lead out to as many as 20 (87-67, with three minutes left)
    • ECU did not let the Wonder Boys get closer than 13 the rest of the game

  • The Tigers claimed the win with a 54.1 field goal percentage (33-of-61)
