OKLAHOMA CITY – The University of Central Oklahoma Monday went 4-0 at the OCU-Champion Hotel Duals beating Hastings, Concordia, Lyon, and Wayland Baptist to improve to 7-0 on the season and extend its overall winning streak in duals to 14.
UCO beat Hastings 29-6 to start the day, whipped Concordia 48-0, beat Lyon 38-12, and ended the day with a 39-3 win over Wayland Baptist. The Bronchos individually were 34-6 on the day.
“This was a great team effort,” UCO head coach Todd Steidley said. “I’m really proud of the guys for coming together like they did today. We got the chance to wrestle 24 guys and that is a big plus and I’m just glad how it all turned out. That’s a good way to end the first semester.”
UCO fielded two teams in the event at Oklahoma City University. UCO2 wrestled Hastings and Lyon.
The Bronchos are off for two weeks before returning to train in the new year. UCO travels to Warrensburg, Mo. to take on Central Missouri on Sunday, Jan. 8. The Bronchos are back home on Wednesday, Jan. 11 against Oklahoma City.
