Undefeated Cowgirls move up, Sooners drop in latest AP poll

The Oklahoma State Cowgirls own the nation’s longest winning streak at 14 and have moved up one spot in this week’s AP women’s basketball poll.

OSU is now No. 15 and the second-highest ranked of the six Big 12 teams that garnered enough voting points to get into the top 25.  The Cowgirls (8-0) wrapped up a six-game home stand Sunday, beating down Vermont, 83-30.

Oklahoma (8-2) saw its own winning streak come to an end on Sunday.  The Sooners had won seven straight before falling to Vanderbilt, 76-63, at the Lloyd Noble Center.

OU is ranked 18th in this week’s poll.

Other Big 12 schools ranked this week are: Baylor – No.3, Kansas – No. 19, Texas – No. 20, and West Virginia – No. 24.

Oklahoma hosts UC-Riverside on Thursday and Oklahoma State travels to Texas-Arlington on Saturday.
