USAO’s Rice named NAIA National Offensive Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY – Emma Rice of Science & Arts (Okla.) has been named the NAIA National Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and Taylor Rogers of Baker (Kan.) has been named the NAIA National Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. The two student-athletes were nominated for their performances during the week of Sept. 9 – 15 and were selected out of a pool of conference and Association of Independent Institutions award winners.

Defensive Player of the Week

  • Two shutouts on eight total shots over the week.
  • Stopped five shots through 109 minutes in 1-0 win over Jamestown (N.D.)
  • Stopped a penalty kick in the first overtime against the Jimmies to keep game tied at zero

    • Two shutout victories

Offensive Player of the Week

  • Led the Drovers to a 3-0 week, outscoring opponents 18-1.
  • Recorded a career-high four goals against Ottawa (Kan.).
