Aggie golfers shoot 318 in first round at Concho River Classic

LAWTON, Okla.– The Cameron University women’s golf team has begun play at the Concho River Classic in San Angelo, Texas today and has put in a combined first round score of 318.

Alexis Thompson had the low score for the Aggies today with a 78.  Kylee Johnson and Shelby Andersonmatched each other today with 79s.  Jaqueline Strickland shot a first round 82 and Aleesha Holden had a score of 86.

“Obviously we are disappointed where we are at,” said head coach Rick Goodwin.   “We played on some tough greens. Our goal is to always play better on the second day and that is what we plan to do.”

Among those in attendance at the Concho River Classic: Midwestern State, Angelo State, Incarnate Word, Texas A&M Commerce, and Texas A&M Kingsville.

The Concho River Classic will continue tomorrow with the final round starting at 8:00 a.m.
