LAWTON – Cameron University’s annual Aggie Madness will be a bit more festive this year as the night of fun, games, and basketball will take place on Oct. 31 and include a new festive format.
The event is time for fans to not only meet the CU basketball teams and see them showcase their skills, but also a chance to interact with the team and win prizes. This year, since the event falls on Halloween Night, fans are encouraged to wear costumes and be ready for lots of candy, giveaways, and other prizes.
Like most years, the event will feature introductions of the teams, a short scrimmage for both the men and women, a three-point competition, a dunk contest, and performances by the Cameron spirit teams. Added to this year’s docket will be a photo booth for fans to take pictures in their costumes prior to the event, spooky decorations, and a costumes contest with three different age divisions (8th grade and under, high school and college, and adult). There may even be a special performance by one of our Aggie basketball teams themselves.
The event is free to the public and the doors of the Aggie Gym will open at 5:20 p.m. and the event will start at 6 p.m. There will be free pizza and drinks available in the lobby until it runs out. Fans are reminded to get a raffle ticket when they enter, to make sure they have a chance to win one of the great prizes available at Aggie Madness.
Both the Cameron men and women’s basketball teams will open up their 2019-20 seasons a week from Aggie Madness. The CU women travel to Stephenville, Texas for neutral site games against Colorado Mesa and Adams State on Nov. 8 and Nov. 9. That same weekend, the Black and Gold men will be in Colorado, as they visit Colorado State-Pueblo and Colorado-Colorado Springs.
