Lady Bulldogs improve to 5-0 with road win at Cameron

LAWTON – SWOSU’s junior duo of Hailey Tucker and Hayden Priddy combined for 53 points in leading the Lady Bulldogs to a 98-81 victory at Cameron on Wednesday evening inside Aggie Gym in Lawton. The victory continues SWOSU’s strong start to the season, improving to 5-0 for the first time since the 2010-11 season.

Priddy got things going for the Lady Dawgs, scoring 14 points in the first half and hitting a late basket that sent SWOSU to the break with a six-point advantage of 40-34. SWOSU never relinquished the lead in the second half despite Cameron getting within one on multiple occasions. Tucker was the finisher for SWOSU, scoring 22 of her season-high 27 points in the second half en route to her fourth consecutive 20-point outing.

SWOSU had a balanced attack offensively as they scored a season-high 98 points in the win, led by four players in double figures. In addition to Priddy and Tucker, Tyra Aska finished with 18 points while Bethany Franks filled up the stat sheet with 14 points, six rebounds and four steals in addition to one blocked shot. SWOSU’s starting lineup accounted for 87 of the Lady Dawgs 98 points while SWOSU scored 27 points off of 21 Cameron turnovers.

The Lady Bulldogs look to continue their hot start to the season on Saturday when they host Northeastern State at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center for a 2:00 pm tipoff.
