Today the OSN Spotlight shines on Carly Zak!

• Southwestern Bulldogs volleyball

• Hometown: Wylie, Texas

• Will graduate May 6, 2017, with bachelor’s degree in business administration management

• Favorite teams: Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks

• Favorite sports moment-personal: “I will never the game I beat the GAC career kills record. It felt good to accomplish this. That is one of the moments I can look back on and know that I proved to myself that all the hard work, blood, sweat, tears and heart that I put into volleyball really paid off.”

• Favorite sports moment-overall: Winning the 2015 GAC championship. “Some of the best friends and relationships I have so far have been because of volleyball, and getting to share that experience with them was indescribable and something I will never forget.”

• What do you like most about SWOSU? “How close knit of a community it is. Everyone is really supportive of each other, and overall wanting you to succeed in the classroom and on the court.”

• Who do you most look up to? “I look up to my mother. She was a single mom of three kids, going to school and had a full-time job. One thing she taught me through example is that hard work yields resuls and that you are the master of your fate.”

• Goals: “To give my all and to be the best person I can be in all that I do. To find a passion that becomes a career.”
